24 hour Postural Care – Introduction and Early Intervention Principles run by Joana from Medifab

A beginner to intermediate level workshop exploring 24-hour protection of body shape and supported development. We will unpack some of the barriers that are commonly experienced when applying this approach in the real world and discuss strategies to negotiate them.

Night-time Positioning: Systematic Approach to Successful Outcomes for Complex Postures run by Jamie from Medifab

An intermediate level workshop analysing the negative effects that unsupported lying can have on clients with movement disorders. Evidence-based research suggests that preferred postures adopted in lying are greatly associated with postural deformities observed in sitting. Based on that, we will support clinicians with a systematic assessment process and will provide practical strategies for a successful intervention and implementation plan.

Standing Essentials – Evidence-based and Clinical Recommendations to support children in standing, run by Jamie from Medifab 

This beginner level workshop will explore the evidence-based recommendations for the use of standing devices for children with different presentations. We will also cover the core principles of standing frame selection based on assessment of the user. We will discuss strategies to facilitate assessment of individuals and how to then interpret findings into equipment configuration and selection.
