VARILITE’s patented Air-Foam Floatation™ combines multi-stiffness foam with a self-adjusting air system to deliver unmatched comfort, pressure care, and vibration dampening—without the need for pumps, kneading, or manual manipulation.
Multi-Zone Foam Construction:
- Soft foam under ischial tuberosities (ITs) for sensitive pressure areas
- Medium foam in the thigh troughs, pelvic bucket, and pre-ischial bar for stability
- Firm foam around the perimeter and medial thigh separator for structural support
The bonded air-holding fabric maintains internal pressure while the valve system allows air to be released, enabling immersion and optimal weight distribution across the cushion.

PSV – Pressure Setting Valve Technology
Take the guesswork out of cushion setup.
The Evolution PSV version features VARILITE’s Pressure Setting Valve, which automatically adjusts internal air pressure to ensure consistent and optimal immersion every time.
How it Works:
- Three pre-marked PSV positions allow therapists to preset ideal immersion ranges
- User opens the PSV to the selected setting while seated
- The valve automatically closes when ideal pressure is reached
- Simple, accurate, and no tools or pumps required
Improves user compliance, reduces setup error, and ensures consistent results.
Standard Valve Option
The Evolution is also available with a manual standard valve for traditional adjustment:
- User opens valve while seated on the cushion
- Releases air until approximately 13mm (½ inch) of air/foam remains under the ITs
- Closes valve for optimal support and immersion
