SleepShape is a range of positioning cushions designed to support posture in lying. With a choice of microbead or microfibre filling, and either comfort or wipeable covers, the range can be tailored to different clinical needs, environments and sensory preferences. From smaller supports to larger, full-body shapes, SleepShape helps promote alignment, comfort and pressure management for people who are unable to change position independently.

SleepShape is a family of positioning cushions developed to make lying support simpler, more consistent and easier to prescribe. The range brings together a carefully chosen set of shapes and sizes that cover the most common positioning needs without overwhelming clinicians or families with unnecessary complexity.

Users who cannot change position independently in bed are at increased risk of poor body alignment, pressure injury, contractures and disturbed sleep. SleepShape cushions are designed to address these issues by providing additional support around key areas such as the head, trunk, pelvis and limbs. The shapes can be used on their own or combined to create a tailored lying solution that supports the person’s posture, comfort and wider 24-hour postural care plan.

Most SleepShape cushions are available with either microbead or microfibre filling. Microbead offers a more fluid, mouldable feel, while microfibre gives a softer, quieter support that can be adjusted in volume via an inner zip. This adjustability allows clinicians to fine-tune the support to specific clinical or user needs, including comfort.

Two outer cover options increase flexibility across different environments. The comfort cover has a softer textile feel that supports sensory comfort and helps with moisture management from sweat. The wipeable cover uses a light blue material that can easily be cleaned, maintaining hygiene for a user whilst protecting the inner support if required.

A range of SleepShape cushions are also available in a hygiene version, catering for environments with the most stringent infection control requirements. Using welded seams and patented filter technology, this support can be safely cleaned and used across multiple patients to provide needed support.

With clear numbering on each cushion and QR codes linking to online resources, SleepShape is designed not only as a set of cushions, but as a practical, easy-to-understand system for clinicians, carers and services working in night-time positioning and pressure care.
