Description

The Spex Paediatric Lateral Trunk Support is a slim, adjustable wheelchair lateral support system designed specifically for children’s wheelchairs, where space for accessories is often limited. With Spex Axial Technology and a swing-away mechanism, it provides reliable trunk alignment, comfort, and ease of transfers for young users.

Slim & Space-Saving Design

Fitting lateral supports on paediatric wheelchairs can be challenging due to limited mounting space. The slim-profile components of the Spex Paediatric Lateral Support allow for easier installation without compromising support.

Renowned Spex Axial Technology

The system incorporates Spex’s Axial Technology, a unique rotational mechanism that enables precise pad positioning. This ensures optimal trunk alignment and postural support for children with complex seating needs.

Axial Technology Benefits:

  • Rotational pad system for precise trunk alignment.
  • Customisable positioning for growing children.
  • Supports proper posture and stability.

Swing-Away Feature for Easy Transfers

The swing-away mechanism, also available in the adult Spex lateral supports, allows caregivers and children to complete unimpeded transfers in and out of the wheelchair.

Flexible Mounting Options

The Paediatric Lateral Support is designed with multiple mounting configurations to suit different wheelchair setups:

  • Forward or rear mount to the back support shell.
  • Mount to the back support canes for independent positioning.

Inverted Mounting for Added Flexibility

For further adaptability, the support can be mounted in an inverted position to control the location of the swing-away release button. Available in both left- and right-hand configurations, the design allows for flexible installation to meet each user’s needs.
