New J3 Plus Backrest

Designed to specifically address the pelvic and trunk stability needs of the bariatric client, the new J3 Plus Backrest* features an optional lower vanity shell extension that can pivot to accommodate redundant tissues, allowing proper positioning without interference. Accommodating up to 226kg. in widths of up to 26″, the J3 Plus Backs are available with either TH 2-point or FS 4-point hardware and features a 2.2″ deep contour to provide for non-restricted movement.

Five Contour Shapes

The Jay J3’s solid shell is available in five contour shapes to provide posterior and lateral pelvic and lateral thoracic stability to wheelchair clients with varying postures and functional needs.

• Posterior (PA)– 2.2″ of lateral thoracic support
• Posterior Lateral (PL)– 3″ of lateral thoracic support
• Posterior Deep (PD)– 6″ of lateral support

The J3 Backrest offers four hardware options to accommodate a span of priorities and wheelchair configurations.

• SH– Easy to install, 2-point, quick-release hardware that allows for numerous attaching positions
• RH– 25% lighter than SH hardware and optimized for ultra lightweight wheelchairs without compromising adjustability
• TH– 2-point, quick-release hardware optimized for tilt-in-space wheelchairs, with a lengthened attachment pin and 226kgs weight capacity
• 4-Point– Quick-release hardware that withstands greater force by distributing across four mounting locations

Spine-Align: Let the Back Fit the User

Fitting the back to the user not the user to the back is the goal of the Spine-Align Posture Conforming system. This is accomplished by combining a wide range of individual foam components to create unique shapes that optimize postural support, evenly distribute pressure, and maximize function. Velcro strips attach to each shape so they can be placed into hundreds of configurations. The flexibility of the system is boundless.

PD Back Now in Over 40 Sizes

The most popular 6″ deep back is now offered in heights from 8″ to 24″ and widths from 12″ to 20″. The PD Back provides excellent midline postural support and positioning, while the curved 7″ tall built-in contoured laterals offer exceptional thoracic stability.

For those individuals who require a more complex seating solution, the JAY^® J3 Form Back Support can be used when an off-the-shelf back cannot accommodate an individual’s orthopedic asymmetries. Carbon Fiber Shell

The J3 Back now offers a Carbon Fiber shell option for the ultimate in lightweight performance.
