Description

Smarter switch access for power wheelchair control

The Switch-It Cool Cube™ with Pro Spot™ Proportional Switches is designed to support users with a wide range of abilities by offering a flexible, intuitive alternative to traditional switch driving. Built around a central hub, the Cool Cube™ allows multiple switch types to be connected and used to control a power wheelchair with greater ease and customisation.

Compatible with many standard proximity and mechanical switches, the Cool Cube™ system also features the innovative Pro Spot™ proportional switches. These industry-first switches allow for precise, proportional control of speed and turn speed, helping create a smoother and more responsive driving experience.

Whether a user is already comfortable with their current switch setup or requires a more tailored access solution, the Cool Cube™ system offers a smart and adaptable option for power wheelchair control.

Why choose the Cool Cube™?

Flexible and simple to use

The Cool Cube™ central hub is designed to make setup straightforward. It automatically senses the type of switch being used, removing the need for confusing configuration. This makes it easier to integrate into a wide range of access setups and allows users to choose the switch combination that works best for them.

The central hub can be ordered on its own or as a complete system with either four or five Pro Spot™ proportional switches.

Precise proportional control

Unlike standard proximity or mechanical switches that only offer full on or full off control, Pro Spot™ proportional switches provide a full and continuous range of speed and direction.

When the user first makes contact with the switch, the wheelchair begins to move at around 40% of programmed speed. As more pressure is applied, the wheelchair increases gradually up to 100% of programmed speed. This delivers a significant improvement in control, helping support smoother driving, more accurate movement, and improved confidence.

Multiple mounting options

Every user is different, and the Cool Cube™ system has been designed with that in mind. Pro Spot™ proportional switches can be mounted in a variety of positions to suit individual needs and access methods.

Possible mounting positions include:

  • Head
  • Leg
  • Tray
  • Hand

This flexibility helps clinicians and users create a setup that is comfortable, practical, and suited to the individual.

Optional auditory feedback

The Cool Cube™ central hub also offers an auditory feedback option. Each hub port emits a different audible tone to correspond with the selected proportional switch, giving users an additional signal to support operation.

The sound can be adjusted to three settings:

  • Off
  • Soft
  • Loud

This feature can be especially useful for users who benefit from extra sensory feedback during switch access.
